I am looking at the John McManus US Passport post.
I have a John McManus ancestor that migrated to America at around 1830. My records show that he was from Longford, Ireland, which looks to be very close to Kilgarve Townland.
I have pictures and some documentation about him being from Longford, Ireland. I would have to dig it all out.
From what I understood, he came over in 1830, which is pretty close to 1832. I thought he came through New York.
I will follow the longford connection, my grand uncle married a mcmanus from
Longford
My Dad's adopted surname is Fengel but his birth father was a McManus
