Looking for Paul McManus of County Meath who left Ireland and came to the US (possibly by way of Canada) about 1820+or-. It is believed his wife died prior to leaving Ireland. He brought four children with him: John, Julia (my 3rd great grandmother), Mary Ann and Margaret. At the time of his death in 1844 he had two daughters still living in Ireland: Bridget (married name Coyle wife of Patrick ) and Rose.

Thanks for your efforts and for posting this. I do have this. However, within this I have not been able to trace daughters Bridget (wife of Patrick Coyle of Sewards, Dublin) and Rose (address unknown), who remained in Ireland. When the will was finally probated, son John inherited all of Paul's land and each of the daughters received $1. Side note: In order for the land inherited by son John to be officially transferred, a special bill had to be introduced and passed in the New York State Senate because father Paul was not a US Citizen at the time of his death. Also a clarification the will was dated 22 JAN 1844 and son John applied to the Surrogate on February 5th 1844. So Paul died some time in between those two dates.

You’re welcome - if you have a public tree somewhere- it would be extremely helpful to see up to date information - if you don’t have a public tree - think about making one so others could pickup on your current research and hopefully expand your tree
