Hi. Through autosomal DNA (Ancestry) my father and ai have shared matches with descendants of Frank, John, Cornelius, Patrick McManus.
My great-great grandmother Margaret is one of my brick walls. Margaret died in 1899 in Cleighran Beg Ballinaglera Drumreilly Leitrim. Per her age in the death record, she’d be born about 1834/36, though I do not know where she was born, or anything really about her besides what I’ve just described.
Margaret married my great-great grandfather Charles Ferguson (abt 1825-1886) and they lived in Cleighran Beg Ballinaglera Drumreilly Leitrim. I know about as much of Charles as I do of Margaret.
Charles and Margaret had several children, the oldest son, my great grandfather Hugh, born 1867 in the very same townland.
Hugh briefly went to America, married and returned with his wife Sarah Meehan. They had children, one of which, a son, my grandfather Thomas Ferguson (1904)
Thomas moved to America in the 1920s and my father was born in Brooklyn Ny in 1937.
I have a public tree on ancestry that I can share. We are awaiting results of Big Y that was sent in January.
